Trace Oxygen Monitoring in Cryogenic Nitrogen Production
Confirming Product Oxygen Purity from Air Separation Units — OMD-740
Vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) and cryogenic air separation units produce oxygen for industrial and medical use, and product purity must be continuously verified before the gas is released for distribution or downstream use. Purity requirements vary by application, from industrial oxygen at moderate purity to higher-purity grades for sensitive processes.
The OMD-740 gives air separation plant operators continuous, accurate oxygen purity measurement at the product outlet, supporting quality assurance and consistent product release.
- Air Separation QC
- Product Purity Verification
- VPSA & Cryogenic Compatible
- 连续过程监控
Why Product Purity Verification Matters
Oxygen produced by VPSA or cryogenic separation must meet defined purity specifications before it is released to storage, pipeline distribution, or cylinder filling. Continuous purity monitoring at the plant outlet confirms the separation process is performing correctly and gives operators the real-time data needed to adjust process conditions or flag a batch that falls outside specification.
Where It's Used
- Product oxygen outlet monitoring — continuous purity verification before release
- VPSA plant process control — supporting cycle optimization based on real-time purity
- Cryogenic ASU product streams — verifying purity across different product grades
- Batch release and quality documentation — confirming purity meets customer specification

常见问题
Trace oxygen measurement provides a direct indication of oxygen contamination or crossover into the hydrogen stream. Trending the oxygen concentration can help operators identify changes in electrolyser or purification system performance.
A common measurement point is the hydrogen product stream downstream of the electrolyser stack. Additional measurement points may be used before or after drying and purification equipment depending on the process design and monitoring objectives.
Alarm and control limits should be determined based on the electrolyser manufacturer’s specifications, process conditions, applicable standards, and the facility’s safety requirements rather than using a universal oxygen alarm value.
